Basketball: My Journey
I've been playing basketball for 10 years and within those 10 years, I have come about many skills which I can use in Media. When I had joined the basketball team in my area and played in the Community League, I was taught how to work with other people, especially when it was my first encounter with them. Within that league we had progressed very far and earned achievements as a result of that e.g. Medals, Trophies etc. This had now taught me skills such as dedication and confidence. These are useful skills because when you have confidence to attempt new things you could receive surprising results, as well as staying dedicated and seeing the work you have been putting in go towards the end result. These skills were also put into practice when I went to University of Surrey and played for their basketball team where we had an Undefeated Season, ending with 13 Wins and 0 Losses.
Following my departure from University of Surrey, I came to Birmingham City University and joined their basketball team and have played with them for the past 2 seasons. Our target this season was to finish undefeated, and we have done exactly that through teamwork, determination and discipline. Although we didn't fully complete the season due to the outbreak of Covid-19 (CoronaVirus) and we ended the season with 9 wins and 0 Losses.
Also, along with joining BCU's basketball team for a second season, I also joined and outside squad in Birmingham known as the Bromsgrove Bears, and we have been at the top of the league throughout the whole season, with 10 wins and 1 loss.
